Thai authorities have arrested a South Korean national identified as “Mr Lee” in Phuket after locating him during a joint investigation with South Korean law enforcement agencies. According to officials, Lee was the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice for alleged fraud and international drug trafficking offences.
Authorities allege that Lee was involved in a fraud scheme that caused losses of more than 800 million won (approximately £417k) and led a network exporting narcotics from Thailand to South Korea. Investigators also reported that he had remained in Thailand for more than eight years after his immigration permission expired.
