Indian authorities have secured the deportation of Vishakha Rathod from the United Arab Emirates in connection with an ongoing financial fraud investigation. Rathod, who was the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice, arrived in Pune on 3 August 2026 and was taken into custody by Maharashtra Police.
According to investigators, Rathod and associates allegedly persuaded investors to place funds into schemes promising fixed monthly returns before diverting the proceeds through multiple bank and dematerialised accounts. Authorities have linked the case to alleged investor losses of approximately ₹88 crore (approximately £6.7 million). The investigation remains ongoing.
