Arrest of INTERPOL Red Notice subject in Indonesia

May 7, 2026

On 5 May 2026, Indonesia’s National Police (Polri) arrested a suspect listed on an INTERPOL Red Notice in connection with alleged cross-border online fraud. The individual, identified by the initials LCS, was detained at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport.

Authorities stated that the suspect had previously been designated a fugitive in an investigation into an international fraud network, reportedly linked to operations in Cambodia. Authorities said the case involves at least 23 police reports filed from various regions across Indonesia, all of which have been consolidated under the cybercrime unit to streamline investigation and case processing.

Police allege that the suspect acted as an operator in an online platform used to conduct coordinated fraud. Following the arrest, the individual was taken into custody for further questioning. Authorities indicated that inquiries are ongoing, including efforts to identify other individuals involved and to trace the movement of funds. No verified figures relating to financial losses or victim numbers have been released.
