At Peters & Peters you can stand out. You’ll get exposure to fast-paced, high profile, heavyweight disputes, working alongside the top lawyers in their field. You’ll have influence earlier than your peers in larger, less specialist firms. You’ll get frequent quality contact with clients and partners, you’ll do varied work with lots of courtroom action, and you’ll enjoy our informal, personal and more collegiate culture.

Our employees tell us they stay with the firm for the work and the people.

The work is outstanding. We are ranked as top tier for international criminal and civil disputes for corporations, governments and prominent people you’ve heard of.

And the people? Ask around. Everyone says our people are actually nice: friendly, collegiate and don’t take ourselves too seriously.

A career with Peters & Peters is, of course, not for the faint hearted. You’ll work on demanding cases where people’s livelihoods, reputations and liberties are at risk. So expectations are high.

But you can be confident you will be part of a warm, collaborative team where your contribution will be valued and where you will be set up to learn, grow and achieve.

Peters & Peters people are as comfortable in the boardroom as they are in a police station. A diverse workforce is central to our success, so we recruit and promote on experience and skills alone.

If this sounds like an environment where you would succeed, we would really like to hear from you.

Whether you are an aspiring trainee solicitor, a qualified lawyer or a business professional, we offer exciting opportunities where you can really make a difference.

Our annual trainee intake is deliberately small, so we can really focus on turning you into Peters & Peters specialists. That makes a difference. Over half of our partners were once trainees here too.

Qualified lawyers

As specialist firm focused on heavyweight international criminal and civil disputes, we employ high-calibre UK-qualified solicitors and barristers.

Business professionals

Our high performing business services team are central to our firm, giving our lawyers the highest quality of professional support, day in, day out.

Exciting work in glamorous – and sometimes adventurous – locations

The great thing about this firm is that it isn’t just work. It isn’t just going into the office, clocking up your hours and going home. There is so much opportunity for interaction with interesting people, whether they be clients, lawyers and other professional advisers. And of course colleagues with your colleagues, who are open, supportive, fun people – with that edge that comes from being genuine experts in their area.

The firm is great at giving you the opportunity to be the first point of contact. You get to make connections, and you have an impact, whether that be communicating with clients, making decisions, giving legal advice, or working with other experts, like barristers, forensic accountants, investigators…

My career route is a bit unusual. I trained as an accountant and practised at a large consulting firm before retraining and joining Peters & Peters. I love using my legal and accounting skills in tandem on complex cases.

I also love networking and building new opportunities. The firm really supports my ambitions, giving me the chance to extend my range of contacts and meet new people all over the world. We work on interesting matters in an interesting environment, we get an insight into high-octane cases that make the headlines. We get to travel to glamorous and sometimes adventurous locations – often for memorable reasons. I think that really makes the firm stand out.

Get involved

Our people put their energy into a raft of clubs, societies and committees to improve the lives of our people and communities.  They give all employees, whatever their interests, the opportunity to push forward real change, creating channels for creativity, fundraising, socialising and fun.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
We are committed to justice: for our clients, our people, our communities and our planet. We appoint a firm charity every two years and offer regular volunteering opportunities and fundraising events such as sporting challenges, quizzes, bake sales, or collecting for the Poppy Appeal. To find out more, download our report, A commitment to justice.

Diversity and Inclusion (D&I)
Diversity & Inclusion is integral to the way we recruit and operate as a business. Our active D&I allies continuously look for ways to improve, and raise awareness of key issues and events. We are proud signatories to the Women in Law Pledge created by The Law Society, the Bar Council of England and Wales and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx). Our organisation is committed to the progress of gender equality, elimination of gender discrimination and pledge to make positive change for the legal profession. Events
We are a friendly and sociable firm with social activities happening all the time. These include parties, drinks and lunches as well as sporting and creative activities. Our events committee drives an active calendar of events and welcomes suggestions from all employees.

Creative Club
This society was formed by a group of like-minded employees who wanted an outlet to share ideas, experiences and talents with other creative minds. It is an inclusive group, open to anyone who has an interest in creativity, whether that be artistic, craft-related, dance, gardening or cooking. They arrange various competitions and activities available to all employees.

Green Team
We are actively committed to minimising our environmental impact. Our dedicated Green Team meets monthly to reduce our carbon footprint and plan initiatives.

Wellbeing

Our wellbeing initiatives include weekly lunchtime yoga classes, quarterly wellbeing seminars, subsidised health club memberships and an Employee Assistance Programme.

We also have a dedicated team of certified Mental Health First Aiders, who together with our partner-level Mental Health Champion, raise awareness of issues surrounding mental health and promote wellbeing activities.

Where we stand out from other City firms is our commitment to fostering a positive work life balance. We reward quality and engagement, and our employees have the flexibility to work from home when needed.

We have taken care to ensure our hybrid working guidelines strike the right balance: offering choice whilst ensuring individuals are accountable to their clients and those they supervise. Our aim is to guarantee everyone can contribute to our culture and gets the opportunity to develop and progress.

We know feeling valued in the workplace creates dedicated, motivated and happy teams. We give new starters a comprehensive support system to make sure they feel well equipped to hit the ground running.

This support continues throughout your career. Regular training curated by our dedicated Learning & Development specialist aids continuous improvement and lasting job satisfaction.
