Webinar: The Corporate Response to Fraud – Risk, Reputation and Recovery

In a webinar hosted by Global Legal Group, Keith Oliver discussed the evolving fraud risk landscape, including the UK’s new failure to prevent fraud offence, and considered how organisations can prepare for, respond to and recover from fraud incidents.

Keith spoke about the importance of taking early, coordinated action when fraud is suspected, focusing in particular on:

    • The importance of acting quickly when fraud is suspected to preserve evidence and maximise recovery prospects.
    • The role of lawyer-led crisis management in preserving legal privilege and maintaining control of the narrative
    • Practical considerations arising from the UK’s new failure to prevent fraud offence and the need for robust prevention frameworks.

The discussion highlighted the need for organisations to have clear procedures in place before issues arise, and to move quickly when they do. Keith noted that a prompt and well-planned response can be critical to protecting assets, managing stakeholder confidence and reducing wider legal and reputational risk.
