Nick Vamos of Peters & Peters on the Anne Sacoolas Sentence

Our Head of Business Crime, Nick Vamos, speaks to Sky News about the sentence of eight months in prison suspended, handed down to US government employee Anne Sacoolas in London on 9 December 2022.

Nick, who represented the family of Harry Dunn, killed by Mrs Sacoolas in a dangerous driving incident, told Sky News that the US government had intervened to protect Mrs Sacoolas from attending court in the UK – but that the suspended sentence would probably have been the same even if she had.

Nick was Head of Extradition at the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service before joining Peters & Peters.
