Peters & Peters secures deletions of Red Notices relating to Middle Eastern political figures

Peters & Peters successfully acted for several connected and prominent Middle Eastern political figures in relation to INTERPOL Red Notices. The clients were all associated with opposition groups in a specific INTERPOL member state and contended that the allegations of corruption and other serious wrongdoing made against them were politically motivated.

We were able to successfully resist repeated attempts by the relevant Middle Eastern state to use INTERPOL to interfere with these clients. The representations made involved engaging in novel issues relating to the connected nature of the various requests, their highly politicised contexts and complex issues of commercial confidentiality.  Our work included interviewing witnesses closely connected with the events in question to evidence the false basis of the Red Notice applications.

Peters & Peters were successful in relation to all of these connected clients.
