Rebecca joined Peters & Peters in September 2011 after practising at the independent Bar. Rebecca completed her pupillage at the leading criminal law set QEB Hollis Whiteman Chambers after being called to the Bar in 2007.

Since joining Peters & Peters, Rebecca’s work has covered the following areas:

Money laundering, terrorist financing, breaches of EU and UN sanctions, Interpol Red Notices, general crime and regulatory work (General Optical Council/ Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales).

Rebecca has previous experience of working on a number of high profile cases including the Stockwell Inquiry (inquiry into the shooting of Jean Charles De Menezes), and the case of the ‘Swiss Re Executive’ who was accused of murdering his young daughter, who was ultimately acquitted by a special verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity. She also gained experience in regulatory work involving the General Medical Council, Association of Chief Police Officers and the Health Professions Council.

She was instructed as Counsel for British Airways in an advisory capacity and junior noting brief in the recent price fixing trial involving BA and Virgin airline employees and has continued to advise them in subsequent related issues.

Whilst at the Bar, Rebecca gained experience across a wide spectrum of criminal matters, including money laundering, fraud, regulatory matters and general crime. Rebecca has extensive experience in general crime work including firearms offences, drug supply, serious assaults and sex offences. In addition Rebecca gained wide experience in other matters including trading standards and OFCOM (the Office of Communications) prosecutions.

Rebecca has experience of conducting litigation at all levels of tribunal and as an employed barrister has full rights of audience in all courts.
