Partner Anna Bradshaw is quoted in CNS News on the end of the Iranian oil waivers from US sanctions

The EU have criticized the decision by the US to end waivers which have allowed some countries to continue importing Iranian oil. Partner Anna Bradshaw says that oil imports are likely to continue, albeit at reduced levels. “There are two ways that these imports may continue: overtly, through routes not involving U.S. persons or the U.S. financial system, and covertly, through various arrangements designed to evade or circumvent U.S. sanctions,” she said. On the EU countermeasures, she further says they may have limited impact beyond their symbolic value, noting that there was little evidence that an E.U. “blocking statute” had encouraged E.U. operators to continue trading with Iran.  Read more
