Yesterday, we hosted an Insight day in support of Access Aspiration. Access Aspiration is a charity organisation that aims to increase social mobility by providing Londoners from disadvantaged backgrounds (aged 16-18) with the confidence, skills and networks they need to progress to university and/or secure employment. We’ve previously supported the charity by volunteering in schools in Bermondsey and Vauxhall conducting mock interviews, with students who were extremely impressive and ambitious.

We hosted 11 students aged 17-18 (studying their A-Levels) for a day of talks and activities to showcase the firm and what life in the legal industry is like (in fee-earner, business support roles, and non-traditional routes such as apprenticeships). We also ran an employability session which helped them with their CVs and allowed them the opportunity to practice their presentation skills in a fun challenge.

We have received some great feedback from the students below :

“I would like to thank you and the staff for today’s event. It was amazing and I learnt so much I never thought I could in one day. This has really helped me a lot in having a bigger vision about law. Hopefully one day , when I finish uni I’ll be able to work with you guys. Thank you once again!”

“Great experience, great atmosphere – very welcoming. I loved the balance between professionalism and casualness, thoroughly enjoyed it!”

“The speed networking and presentation challenge were very informative and exciting.”

“Everyone was amazing. Speed networking was insightful for understanding different routes into law.”
