Hannah Laming and Miranda Ching of Peters & Peters successfully represented an experienced banking professional in an investigation into insider dealing. The individual was accused of committing market abuse by using information passed to him by an alleged insider at another bank to trade successfully in M&A associated securities, realising a benefit in the seven figures. The case, which was originally a criminal investigation before being pursued as a civil matter by the FCA, concluded after the RDC were persuaded to direct FCA Enforcement to take no further action following a two day hearing in September.
