Anna Bradshaw is featured on BBC Radio 4 discussing prospective sanctions on Russia

Sanctions remain the much talked about western response to a Russian incursion. Foreign Secretary Liz Trust told the Today programme that nothing is being ruled out and that the UK will be legislating to toughen up its sanctions regime.

Anna Bradshaw explains what sanctions could look like. “Sanctions on individuals could typically be asset traces, affecting all their assets within the reach of the sanctioning jurisdiction, and they would also extend to anyone who holds assets on your behalf. They would typically also have a travel ban attached to them. That may be one of the many reasons we rarely see financial sanctions being imposed on heads of state.
