Paralegal Vacancy

A job opportunity has arisen for a paralegal assisting both our Business Crime and Commercial Litigation and Civil Fraud teams.

Your main responsibility will be to provide legal and administrative support to Partners and Associates. Depending on the role you may be working with large quantities of documents (document management/review) or in a role which involves, for example, drafting research memos on a range of issues as they arise and taking notes at meetings, court or during conference calls.

Effective communication skills are essential, together with a very high standard of written and spoken English. Another European language is an advantage, but is not essential. Experience of working on complex and detailed document management, particularly on large, ongoing matters would be particularly useful.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A high level of academic achievement, including a minimum 2:1 degree/postgraduate legal qualification and have completed the LPC or BPTC;
  • Previous legal research/paralegal experience;
  • The ability to work independently and also as part of a team;
  • The ability to prioritise workload;
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • A proactive and positive approach to work and a strong work ethic.

The contract is offered for an initial six month period and may be extended, depending on business needs.

The salary is £27,500 and we offer a range of benefits including 25 days annual leave, pension contributions and subsidised health club membership.

Paralegal Vacancy

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced paralegal to assist the team involved in a leading SFO case within our Business Crime team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a small team working on a large and high profile financial crime matter.

The successful candidate will typically be involved in the following duties:

  • Managing large quantities of documents through an online platform (Relativity);
  • Manipulating spreadsheets to filter for specific types of documents;
  • Producing hard copy bundles;
  • Reviewing and analysing case materials;
  • Producing case material summaries;
  • Attending and taking notes at client meetings, court or during conference calls;
  • Drafting memos and correspondence;
  • Liaising with Counsel;
  • Legal research; and
  • General administration, as required.In addition, the ideal candidate will have:
  • Effective communication skills are essential, together with a very high standard of written and spoken English. Experience of working on complex and detailed document management, particularly on large, ongoing matters would be particularly useful.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • An interest in financial crime and a strong work ethic;
  • At least six months previous paralegal experience;
  • A high level of academic achievement, including a minimum 2:1 degree/postgraduate legal qualification and have completed the LPC or BPTC;
  • The ability to work independently and also as part of a team;
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a constantly changing workload;
  • A proactive and positive approach to work.

The contract is offered for an initial six month period but could be extended for up to two years, depending on business needs. It is therefore crucial that the individual is available until the end of 2019.
