Diversity & Inclusion
At Peters & Peters we understand that everybody is different in ways you can see, such as age, ethnicity or physical appearance and in ways you can’t see, such as educational and social background, religious belief, life experience and sexual orientation.
As well as meeting our formal obligation to the SRA to publish demographic data about the people we employ (please see below for the link to our 2015 report) we are committed to offering opportunities for flexible working and to developing the many and varied skills and attributes that our employees bring to the LLP.
As a highly-regarded niche law firm, with a hugely varied and multi-national client base, we have an obligation to ensure that we appeal as an employer to all talented people with the drive and ability to succeed in our field. As a signatory to the Law Society’s Diversity & Inclusion Charter, we take these responsibilities seriously and aim, through our Diversity & Inclusion Committee and a range of positive initiatives, to ensure that our working environment is fair to all and that we provide equal opportunities for progression and development to everyone, irrespective of sex, race, age or any other factor. We provide equality and diversity training for all employees, as well as targeted training in, for example, unconscious bias, for partners and senior managers and for those involved in recruitment.
We offer work experience placements to those from less privileged backgrounds and take part in mentoring schemes, such as supporting schoolchildren from inner city schools who want to learn about a legal career, or mentoring more advanced students seeking practical experience or a training contract.
We also make presentations at city law colleges and universities to students from a wide variety of backgrounds who may not otherwise find out about us, or have an opportunity to talk to one of our partners.

We collect, report and publish workforce diversity data on a biennial basis to satisfy both our formal obligation to the SRA, and the responsibilities of our voluntary signatory to the Law Society’s Diversity & Inclusion Charter.
