Internal Company Investigations

Our firm has a long track record of undertaking internal investigations where fraud or other malpractice is suspected.

Services

We are in a unique position to look at problems from different perspectives and advise on the civil, criminal and regulatory repercussions.

We will identify those involved, secure evidence for legal proceedings and prevent further losses. This will involve working with:

  • Accountancy firms
  • Investigators
  • In-house audit and legal counsel

Investigations may be triggered by internal whistle blowing reports and we regularly advise on confidentiality and employment law issues that result.

Alternatively, they may result from an external agency starting their own investigations. We have considerable experience of undertaking investigations in response to enquiries from the SFO, the OFT, the FSA and overseas agencies. For example the United States Department of Justice and the SEC in relation to investigations under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

We are experienced in managing teams in cross-border investigations and can resolve complex problems arising in these types of investigations, such as legal privilege, data protection, and anti-money laundering.

We also work with our clients to develop fraud prevention policies.
