Miranda joined Peters & Peters in April 2011.
She is an experienced criminal litigator, having previously practised at Hodge Jones & Allen solicitors in London. Miranda represents clients in an extensive range of criminal matters – this may involve cases ranging from fraud and money laundering, to cases of sexual and child abuse, the supply and importation of illegal drugs, possession of firearms, violence and public disorder. She advances the rights of her clients from an early stage by representing her clients through all stages of police investigation, including interviews conducted under caution. As an experienced Court advocate, Miranda guides her clients carefully through the complex issues involved in criminal litigation. Examples of cases include:
R v H (2010)– Represented soldier tried in military court martial in relation to serious sexual assaults. Acquitted on all counts.
R v R (2010)– Client acquitted of assisting co-defendant escape police apprehension in attempted murder/firearms case.
Miranda also advises on extradition cases having appeared regularly at Court for clients arrested under European Arrest Warrants.
Miranda is originally from Melbourne, Australia, where she practised as a taxation solicitor at a corporate level.
As a Solicitor-Advocate, Miranda has Higher Rights of Audience (Criminal Advocacy), enabling her to exercise rights of audience in all criminal proceedings in the higher courts.
