Hannah is a barrister in the fraud and regulatory department. Her areas of expertise include investigations and prosecutions in complex fraud, corruption and insider dealing as well as advising on other FSA regulatory matters.
Hannah was called to the Bar in July 2001. Following completion of pupillage, she practised as a barrister at 36 Bedford Row and then at 13 Old Square specialising in civil litigation including commercial law, property and civil fraud.
In January 2006, Hannah joined the Serious Fraud Office. During her three years at the SFO, she gained in depth experience in the investigation and prosecution of serious fraud and corruption cases including the high profile case of Independent Insurance. She led investigations into large scale international fraud and corruption and dealt with multi-jurisdictional issues such as mutual legal assistance requests, extradition, plea bargaining and immunity. She has worked with a number of overseas agencies including the US Department of Justice.
In January 2009, Hannah joined the Enforcement and Financial Crime Division of the Financial Services Authority. She dealt with investigations into and subsequent proceedings against global financial institutions and senior executives for regulatory breaches, misconduct and insider dealing. She also has experience of settlement negotiations, financial hardship claims and RDC hearings.
Hannah joined Peters & Peters in March 2010 where she continues to advise on issues relating to complex fraud, corruption, insider dealing and FSA regulatory and compliance matters.
As an employed barrister, Hannah has full rights of audience in all courts.
