Indian Corruption Investigation

Peters & Peters act for a high-profile and wealthy Indian national, who is founder of a highly lucrative and publicised sports league.  The commercial success of the league (reportedly worth over US$4 billion) has led our client to be compared to Don King and Bernie Ecclestone. Our client faces disciplinary, civil and criminal investigations in India following a tender process for the franchise rights for new sports teams and for billion-dollar broadcasting deals. The allegations in question involve significant figures in Indian political life and a vast array of high profile global sporting events and personalities.  Possible criminal allegations include false accounting, money laundering, bid-rigging and corruption.  Peters & Peters advise on the individual’s position in the UK, including any future request for extradition from the Indian authorities.

Special Counsel, Monty Raphael, Partner Jasvinder Nakhwal and Associate Jenny Barker act.
