District Judge Decision Challenged at Bow Street Magistrates’ Court

Peters & Peters acted for GML International Ltd which was an interested party in judicial review proceedings brought to challenge a decision of District Judge Evans at Bow Street Magistrates’ Court.

District Judge Evans had granted the Serious Fraud Office a warrant to search and seize documents pursuant to a letter of request sent to the UK by Bosnia Herzegovina.  This case (R (on the application of Energy Financing Team Ltd) v Bow St Magistrates Court and others [2005] 4 All ER 285) resulted in important guidance being given in relation to the issue of search warrants.
